UCAS have the ability to accept some changes (e.g. to your address, or the the qualifications you'll be taking) - see this web page - but don't appear to have a way to update them of your status as a young carer. In any case, it's best to update the universities with any changes directly too anyway.

So, take a look at the contextual criteria for each uni to which you've applied and see if being a young carer is listed - each will have a web page showing the contextual rules. If they say it'll have an impact, then contact the admissions team (with your UCAS id) and let them know.

See the criteria used by Hull York Medical School here. I see no mention of being a young carer having any impact on that page, or the linked definition for care experienced / care leaver on this page.

Hey, same thing with me. I forgot to add that I’m a young carer - have you tried asking your school what to do about this?

It’s not compulsory that your school know about it, I just emailed mine today to let them know and that I actually want to disclose it on my UCAS which has been sent off so that’s why I asked them

also, try give UCAS a call tomorrow. You can speak about it with them. You might have to call on Jan 2nd as they’re currently off atm
Please follow DataVenia‘s advice.

UCAS can only amend certain data after your app has been sent off. So you need to notify your uni choices directly.

You also need to notify your choices directly. Depending on their systems they may not update from UCAS after your application has been received.

Thank you, KCL have updated their system for me. My other unis haven’t requested for further information. I’ve emailed them all last week but they were away for Christmas/New Years. I aim to call them on Monday

Yeah, it’s a good idea to follow up with a call, just in case they look at your application before the email.
