Successful HSPS applicants - can you help me review my application

Hello!
I´m a mexican student currently in year 11, I´m taking the IB, and will be applying to university next autumn. I originally planned to go for IR, but HSPS really caught my interest because it allows for a more interdisciplinary focus, and reading all the information available on the website was so exciting! I am particularly interested in sociology, but politics is appealing too.
However, I don´t know anyone who has applied to Cambridge (or to universities abroad at all) and I find the whole process daunting, specially the personal statement.
If any of you successful HSPS applicants are willing to offer tips, some sort of guidance, or even go as far as to review my personal statement and application (that would be amazing), I will be more than grateful!

Thanks a lot!
Note that the personal statement format is changing from next year and will be a much more structured series of shorter questions. Also historically Cambridge has not put a great deal of emphasis on the personal statement anyway as I understand, and for HSPS because it's a fairly unique course they will be used to applicants applying with more varied personal statements that may focus more on only one or two parts of the course (although there is the optional additional personal statement section in the MyCambridge portal if you wanted to write more about the course more specifically for Cambridge). I wouldn't overthink it though!

Do however be careful with your PS, don't post it in whole or in part anywhere on pubic webpages (such as publicly visible forums like the one you have posted in here), as it will be cached by google and flag as plagiarism if you submit it (necessitating you rewrite it). Also you shouldn't send it to people you don't know/trust personally because you can't know they won't post parts of it elsewhere or use it in the same way.

If you want your PS reviewed when it gets to that point, TSR operates a free personal statement review service which you can read more about here: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1083 where you submit your PS to a private forum which is not cached by google, and reviewed by DBS checked personal statement reviewers

hi, one of my friends applied for HSPS (and i nearly did too!!). my advice would be go beyond your studies exploring different topics within the hsps sphere (politics, international relations, social anthropology and sociology). you can read books, do essay competitions, MOOCs, to extend your knowledge. this will help for the “personal statement” (which is changing next autumn to a few short questions - very similar to a personal statement, just more concise) and it will help you talk about things if you get an interview.

also other that this, make sure your grades at the best they can be - you’ll smash it!!
