Yo guys, here is some waffle, lmk what you think.
I’ve already got an iPad, but I’m doing a physics degree and it doesn’t give me all the functionality I need for certain things. So I was thinking of selling this iPad and getting a larger-size HP envy x360 (2in1) with a pen. Larger size because I need more room to view things and my eyesight isn’t the best. I’m a commuter (multiple trains every time) and don’t mind carrying such a laptop around in a decent bag, just don’t want to look ridiculously stupid… My current bag is a huge backpack with my lunch, iPad, folder, and it looks very fat. A laptop bag might look more sensible. For reference, I’m very short, and an abaya girlie.
I didn’t want to buy a cheaper normal laptop to use alongside the iPad because I just find it annoying to have to switch devices and I like everything in one place. I thought it might be nice to take picture of things on the iPad during lectures, but my phone is good enough for that tbh. Having three devices (phone, iPad, laptop) all at once on me is overwhelming for me. I’m quite small and not intimidating looking and someone could steal one off of me without me noticing well.
I have a PC at home but I need something possible to carry around and actually use all the time, and I don’t game anymore, so my brother will be taking it. It is a bit annoying having to find a computer in the uni library every time, and send project work to myself on email so that I can access it at home on my PC etc. Lots of problems have arisen from that.
I would be getting a wireless mouse with it too as I find it easier with a mouse. Probably something not hp.
The thing is, other 2in1 laptops don’t meet my requirements, but the envy x360 reportedly has hinge problems. I might be making a huge mistake by selling the iPad and possibly ending up with a bad hinge……
But at the same time, someone else on my course has that laptop and they’re doing absolutely fine. Others have also been fine with it, I’ve seen.
Aside from the hinge problems, I think I’m falling in love with the x360 too much. Don’t want to get attached if there’s a problem with 2in1s like that.
Any suggestions?????
