MSc Pre-registration healthcare course funding

Hello,

For reference, I already have another master's degree and so am not eligible for the postgraduate loan system.

Bit of an odd question. I know normally a person will get funding for an MSc pre-registration NHS healthcare course, however, Sheffield Hallam's MSc Radiotherapy and Oncology in Practice is a distance-based pre-registration course for Therapeutic Radiography (a 2 years conversion course):

However, the tuition fee per year is £11,590, i.e. above the maximum tuition fee loan available. Would this indicate that the degree is not eligible for student finance support?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

Hi there. Sheffield Hallam do offer a 2 year Full time option for this course (Radiotherapy and Oncology in Practice). There is currently no Part Time equivalent course available at present. This Full Time course falls under the undergraduate support as it is an exception course which leads to a Postgraduate qualification. You may want to check with the university in relation to the Part Time option, but this full time option has a tuition fee of £9250 per academic year. Thanks, Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

The course I am describing is a full time 2 year MSc done through distance education (with some block study on campus and clinical placement undertaken locally) with fees listed at £11,590 per year for home students.

If it is not appearing in your system, I'll ask SHU directly about it.

Hope you had a good holiday
