A levels for dentistry

Does taking four a levels have any sort of advantage in more likely to get into dentistry ? Currently taking chem, bio, maths and further maths. Thanks

For most courses, taking four a-levels will not give you any advantage AFAIK.

No, unis only care about 3 tbh. For SOME unis, they don’t mind an EPQ - defo check your desired unis

I am currently taking four subjects, one of them is further maths which I find it getting more difficult for me and I was thinking of whether to drop it or not. However, as I'm doing dentistry which I know is a highly competitive subject, I'm not sure whether dropping further maths, doing three subjects instead of four would make me in a less advantageous position. May I know is further maths actually useful for dentistry ? Will dental school take maths and further maths as separate subjects as if they don't than further maths would not be as useful I guess. Will taking three subjects instead of four make me less competitive in applying to dental school ?

As far as I know most unis only look at your top 3 A level grades, so whether you take fm or not should have little to no effect on your application. If you're struggling you should drop it.

no, you’re better off dropping that 4th A level and spending the time on improving your application such as preparing for UCAT, volunteering etc

Sometimes the fourth A-level is useful preparation for the course itself rather than critical to admissions. It's always worth thinking hard about A-levels (or equivalent) as foundational knowledge for university.
