Sociology alevel help
do we need to know about all the theorists mentioned in the aqa sociology textbook? in the specification it doesn't really specify having to specifically know about any theorists, and im studying on my own. do i need to make note on every theorist that comes up in my textbook?

Hey hey,
Fellow A-Level student here! You don't need to know every single one, it's just handy to know a few. What I do is learning at least or one or two sociologists from each perspective on different topics. Talking about theorists/sociologists helps with your arguements and makes your answers stand out more.

Maybe not all, but its best to know the ones that reoccur alot across the spec and have alot to say, for example Durkheim or Parsons for functionalists, there is always something to link to. These more mainstream theorists are good for getting higher AO3 marks as you can cross reference them in your essays with other topics and link the two together to get stronger marks, e.g Durkheim in education and theories.

Hey I’m not sure if this will be helpful or not, but I have Quizlet sets for for each of the sociologists and theories in education, I can send them to you if you like
