Transfer from Dundee to St Andrews

Hi
So Im in a sort of dilemna here. I had an offer for gateway to medicine at St Andrews however I did not meet my condition due to one grade. So then I applied through clearing and go to the University of Dundee. Im hoping to transfer from Dundee to St Andrews.

Can someone tell what are the chances of my transfer happening since taking into account I did have a conditional offer for that uni. Oh it is also worth noting that I am doing biomedical sciences at Dundee and wish to apply for Biochemistry at St Andrews since they do not have biomed. Do you think they will accept me since Im choosing a slightly different course than the one Im doing?

Could someone be able to help me and tell me what to write in my personal statement for this. Im so lost :/

Do you meet the entry requirements for Biochemistry at St Andrews? Have you gone through the First Year Biochemistry modules at St Andrews (detailed here) to see how much of an overlap there is with what you're learning on your Biomedical Sciences course at Dundee? Do you have a plan to bridge the gap?

St Andrews has a specific Transfer students page which details the process of applying to transfer there. With regards to your personal statement, they say:

"Draft your personal statement carefully so that it indicates that you are applying for a transfer and addresses your reasons for wishing to move from your current institution. Your personal statement should also reflect your choice of courses. You can find more information about what we look for in an application on the how to apply page."
