Italian Citizen Applying to Italian Polytechnics with BTEC and A-Level Mathematics –

Hi everyone,

I’m an Italian citizen currently living and studying in the UK. I’m completing a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering and A-Level Mathematics privately. I’m looking to apply to universities in Italy, specifically the polytechnics (e.g., Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino).

However, I’m finding it difficult to understand how my qualifications might be assessed in Italy. I know the BTEC isn’t as well-known in the UK compared to A-levels, and I assume it’s even less recognized in Europe. That said, some excellent universities in the UK, such as the University of Bristol (ranked 4th in the UK for Mechanical Engineering by The Complete University Guide), do accept a combination of a BTEC Extended Diploma and A-Level Mathematics for admission.

Has anyone here been through a similar process or know how Italian universities evaluate UK qualifications, particularly BTECs? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
