Braces

Hi, I recently got my braces fitted under the NHS just a few weeks ago because I was in full time education and I have turned 19 now. However I'm no longer considering university and dropping out. Will that affect my treatment for braces?

Since you’ve turned 19 and are no longer in full-time education, there’s a chance that your NHS braces treatment could be affected, as NHS orthodontic care is typically available to those under 18 and in full-time education. However, since your treatment began before you turned 19, it’s possible that the NHS will allow you to continue treatment until it's completed. The best thing to do is contact your orthodontist or the clinic to explain your situation and confirm whether there will be any changes to your treatment. If your NHS eligibility changes, you may have the option to continue your treatment privately, either with your current orthodontist or another practice. It’s worth discussing all these possibilities with them to ensure you can continue your care.
Hope that helps!!
