I'm also in Turner House.

There's a couple more of us on the facebook usergroup, though that place isn't exactly bustling with activity.

I received an offer of accomodation yesterday for a twin room catered in Pollock halls, even though my 3 choices were all in self-catered! The twin room I could deal with but I really don't think I could stand not being self-catered. I know that people who had Edinburgh as an insurance choice had been warned that they would probably only be offered twin accomodation and I did have an insurance offer with them BUT I also had my firm choice with them so I don't understand how I've ended up where I am.
I know alot of people have ended up being offered accomodation that wasn't one of their 3 choices but I was wondering whether anyone else had been offered catered instead of self-catered?

I'm going to be in a twin bunk bedded catered room..
Is anyone else going to be in Chancellor's Courts in a similiar room? I've been offered room CC1103.

That was my second choice! Did you apply for pollock then? What sort of room have you been offered small, standard or large?

No its a twin bed room. It's annoying because I know that the catered accomodation is much nicer than self -catered (I stayed with a friend) and as I said before, the sharing a room I would be fine with (not planning to be in it much anyway!) and I love the location of the pollock complex, but I'm way way to fussy with my eating habits to be in catered!

Well warrender park road is five minutes from Pollock.... and apparently (according to people on TSR) people drop out after like a month, so you could try and change then?

Which part of pollock are you in?

Just wondered, what are the differences in size between small, medium and large sized rooms? I have been allocated a small room in South College Street - does anyone have any info?

According to people I have spoken to, very marginal.

I phoned the accomodation people up to ask them what I could do and it turns out they had made a mistake and given me the accomodation based on me having an insurance offer only when I also had my firm choice with them. They were really good about it and I'm now in Warrender Park Road :-) Flat 4 Room 2 here I come...

You are do lucky, I might try and call tomorrow and see if I can be out into Pollock... Chancellor's or Holland House

Do you that it is likely?
