You are do lucky, I might try and call tomorrow and see if I can be out into Pollock... Chancellor's or Holland House

Do you that it is likely?

I don't know what they would/could do for you, when I rang the other day and asked if I could change they said I couldn't, it was only when I spoke to them again and they realised they hadn't read my application properly that they said they would try and correct their mistake...and I guess they did!

I'm sure it can't hurt to give them a ring so I'd probably say give it a go :-)
Good luck

Hmm...I have an offer from Sciennes, had already accepted it and sent the direct debit mandate. Received an email confirming the latter. But in my MyEd thingy it still says that I still "have an accommodation offer waiting". Is that normal? :s

No, that should say you have accepted a place and when you go into it, it should give you your contract details. I would call accommodation services.

Do any of you know what the quality of the bedding packs you can pre order?

I'm interested in the answer to this question also. I've already purchased the pack as it's cost prohibitive to ship all that stuff over to Scotland from Texas.

the same thing happened to me. once ud done the direct debit for the accommodation did u pay the £250 deposit and then sign the online contract? mine kind of timed out halfway through, as soon as id paid the direct debit, and if u dont do those things then u havent properly accepted it. i rang accommodation services and they sorted it out.

No I didn't pay the deposit yet... I think mine timed out halfway through as well. In the confirmation e-mail it says:

Thank you for completing the Direct Debit Mandate in relation to the payment of Accommodation Fees.
The next contact you will have will be from the University of Edinburgh, which will confirm the exact instalment amounts and the dates when these instalments will be taken. This information should be received within 2 months of the date of this e-mail or at least 14 days prior to the first payment.

I thought by setting up this mandate the deposit will be deducted from my account, which is why I was so confused when it said that I hadn't accepted the offer yet. Will ring accommodation asap. Thanks guys!

Yeah same. Which ones did you apply for? I'm really hoping for Hermits Croft

i applied for darroch/robertson/new arthur place.

but also I just rang the accomodation office to see why they're so late in making me an offer and she said I wouldn't get one for another week (even though it was promised before 31st august). and she said that because of the extra demand, even tho I applied for three self-catered single rooms and edinburgh was my firm choice that I could still end up in shared catered accomodation.

really not looking forward to uni if that is the case. really worried

What kind of things do you get in the kitchen? Microwave, toaster, kettle?
Or does one have to bring those?

WHAT!?!?!?! Noooooooo I actually can't afford catered accommodation. If I don't get an offer on monday I'll ring them and if they say I'm in catered I might just explode.

It's all 100 % (or at least close) polyester so not very comfortable until you get used to it. You get two sets of sheets and two pillows + a duvet. The duvet is really thick though, which comes in handy in the winter when you'll be living in private accomm next year and can't afford to pay for heating. I'd recommend you to bring or buy cotton duvet covers and pillow cases etc. as it'll make it so much more comfortable. I've been using mine for two years now and they've lasted fine.

I was wondering, if I wanted to move out into private accommodation in a month or something like that if one could normally find people willing to swap into my assigned non-catered accommodation? [i'm in college wynd]

Just wondering, how many people share a bathroom on average in self catered?
(eg Warrender Park Crescent)
