Is a predicted grade for a subject I am self studying necessary for UCAS

I am in yr 12 and I have decided to self study A level Further Maths as I realised the desirability of the subject too late. However I am aware that by the end of this year I will receive my predicted grades to put on UCAS. If I add the Further Maths and leave predicted as blank according to UCAS this should be fine if I can provide a reason in my reference. "If you’re not able to provide a predicted grade, leave this blank and make sure your reason is given in the reference." Has anyone else been in this situation and could I ask what you did. Thank you
You don’t add predictions. They’re added as part of your reference.

Speak to your school/college about who provides your reference to make sure they’re aware of the additional A level and will be able to explain about the lack of prediction.

Do your school know you are self-studying? Why can't you join the lessons so you can get a prediction?

First sentence I mentioned how I have realised too late that I want to do it so the school won't let me join, so the only other option is to self study

This makes no sense - they could still help you - that's what we'd do.

Did you get the GCSE requirement and how late did you realise?
