What are the two-bedroom units in Nelson Court like?

I understand that Nelson Court at UEA is split into ten person flats and two-bedroom units. I was wondering if someone who is currently living in one, or has lived in one, could tell me what the two-bedroom units are like. This is because a friend and I have signed on to live in one from September 2025 but weren't able to see it beforehand. Thanks!

Hi there,

Congratulations on securing your accommodation at Nelson Court for September 2025! It’s great that you and your friend will be sharing a two-bedroom unit they’re a great option for those who want a quieter and more private space on campus.

The two-bedroom units at Nelson Court are located on the upper floors, so you’ll likely have a lovely view across the campus. Each unit has two single bedrooms, both fully furnished with a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, and plenty of storage space. There’s also shared access to a kitchenette with a hob, convection oven, fridge, and freezer, plus a shared shower room with a toilet and wash basin.

These units are known for being a bit more private compared to the larger flats, which many students appreciate. It’s a good balance between having your own space and still being part of the wider campus community. In terms of cost, for the upcoming academic year, it’s around £134.47 per week per room, including utilities and housekeeping services.

If you didn’t get a chance to see the unit before booking, I’d recommend checking out the UEA accommodation tour video on YouTube it gives a good visual of what the living spaces are like. You can also reach out to the UEA Accommodation Office if you have specific questions.

If you need any more details or want to chat about living on campus, feel free to reach out. Wishing you both a great start to your time at UEA!

Best wishes,
Daniel
