PGDE Aberdeen

Hi just wanting to ask, does anyone know how many days you would be on campus for the PGDE secondary course. I would be travelling from Glasgow.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Thanks for your interest in studying with us! So to my understanding for the taught portion of the PGDE you would be expected to be on campus 2-3 days of the week for classes. There are also placements in schools however which would either be Aberdeen city or Aberdeenshire schools, and so it's worth bearing in mind that this would be something you need to commute for and for possibly more days of the week. I would recommend getting in contact with [email protected] where our team that runs the PGDE course would be able to give you some more definite details on the timetable for the course!

I have applied to the University of Aberdeen, and my application status shows "decision approved." Does this indicate that I will receive an offer letter?

That's really not something I can advise on here unfortunately. If you can give us an email on [email protected] with some details of your application then that will be a more appropriate place for us to advise on the status of your application.

Oh that's good to hear and glad you were able to get in contact! Out of interest, where was it that they said you would be able to do your placement? My understanding was that for the in-person PGDE's the placements were in Aberdeen city or Aberdeenshire (maybe a couple in Angus) and I just wanted to check that that's accurate. Definitely go by what they have said though as they're the experts on the course!
