Canceling my deferred place?
Hi,
I got admission in University of Strathclyde for Sept 2024 intake but due to domestic issues, I couldn't file for visa on time, and had to defer my place to Jan 2025. But Im wondering if canceling my deferred place is possible (again domestic issues) because their policy says i cannot (I don't intend to cancel) and if someone else can apply for my cancellation or withdraw instead of me?

Yes, you can cancel a confirmed deferred place for 2025 entry - call/email the Uni asap and they can do this for you. Just make sure this is definitely what you want to do as you can't then reinstate this place if you change your mind later.

But their policy clearly states that I cannot cancel the deferral because I needed a sponsorship for my visa after the latest arrival date (I got my visa on last arrival date) and as per their policy they didn't do that and deferred my admission instead

I did email them, they said they can only defer my place to Sept 2025. I emailed them multiple times before as well. They only recommended deferral which I followed and deferred my place to Jan 2025. Which is current intake.
