No.
GCSEs tend to be non-negotiable as they've set them for a reason - if you don't have the required grade, then it's highly likely you'll be missing the core knowledge that you need to succeed in the course. They don't want to set you up to fail.

If it's a computing GCSE you're on about then that's a little surprising, as a strong maths (or possibly) physics grade could potentially make up for that.

If you mean the GCSE maths requirement for a computing degree course, then that makes more sense and isn't surprising at all, given that Computer Science is essentially applied maths.

Let us help you - what course is this and what qualifications are you taking currently? It would help if you also include a quick summary of your GCSEs.

I also have extenuating circumstances that caused me to get bad gcse grades. due to mental health issues (s****** attempt) I didn't end up sitting my grades and my secondary school created grades from my workbooks. this was during covid and I didn't fare well with online learning so my books produced bad grades.

You would still be expected to resit that GCSE this summer to get the required grade - talk to your school.
As above, any specified GCSE requirements are about basic skills, not 'nice to have'

Hi @yeahyeah1w2

I hope you're well.

As has been said, GCSEs tend to be slightly less negotiable than A level grades. I would definitely recommend contacting the undergraduate admissions team at [email protected] to double check this. They should be able to offer some more specific guidance.

Any more questions, just let us know!
