Protein folding multiple choice

In the original Anfinsen protein refolding experiment, ribonuclease was used. Ribonuclease has 8 cysteine residues that form 4 disulfide bridges. The experiment was repeated using protein X with 11 cysteine residues, giving 5 disulfide bridges and one unpartnered cysteine residue. How much activity would scrambled disulfide protein X have? (Hint: scrambled ribonuclease has ~1% activity)
A. 0.026%
B. 0.053%
C. 0.106%
D. 0.212%

Please help I have no idea how to do this
I have no idea how to calculate it too. I tag some members who might be able to help you.

Sorry, no idea. What is this for?

It is about the numbers of scrambled disulfides and thus the extent of denaturation in a protein, I guess. But you tell me. Is there a way for calculation anyway? if so, I have really no clue.

Maybe they know it better.

This isnt covered (to my knowledge) in the enzymes content ive done at a level so i was wondering whether it’s beyond a level. Ive got no idea how to even start doing something like that- most of my maths questions in bio are converting units 😅

Me too. That is beyond my knowledge too, I had taken biology and chemistry at A levels. I guess it is at least undergraduate.

@Onionkid1717 what is the level of this question?
