Biomedical sciene vs Medicine

Hi,

Between biomedical science and medicine, which one is more lab-based and which one has more theory work instead? I’ll probably go through clearing, but i was confused with which one i should go with in clearing. I’m more of a theory kinda person instead of labs, but im fine with both.

Also, what careers can i get into after the biomed degree? I want to go into teaching at some point, or stick with medicine, idk.

On a sidenote, if i were to become a bio/science teacher in secondary school, would a bio. Degree be better or biomedical science degree? Obvs my first choice is still med.

Thankss

What year are you in? Are you in year 13? If so then you've passed the deadline for medicine and places in clearing are extremely rare. Not to say that they're impossible - just very unlikely. Biomedical science is very heavily lab-based and often leads into research jobs or jobs in the industry like pharmacology, or as a biomedical scientist for the NHS. Medicine obviously has more patient focused learning and is less lab-based than biomedical science

For becoming a bio/science teacher, a degree in biology would obviously be better, but considering a lot of the course content will be similar, I imagine the difference in relation to getting a job as a teacher between a bio or biomedical science degree would be relatively small.

Well biomedical sciences is definitely more lab based than a medical degree.

A medical degree is never going to be a theoretical degree because medicine is a practical profession.
