are alevel march mocks important

hey everyone, just needed some second opinion from students. I have mocks coming up at the end of feb/march. but unfortunately I also have a wedding the sunday before the exam week in Germany which requires me to miss the Monday back if I do go to the wedding. i will also talk to my teacher to ask their opinion but do you guys think I should go to the wedding, its been a while since I've seen family and weddings don't come around often. and I know it's only my mocks, obviously I wouldn't even consider it if it was my real Alevels but I just want to know what other people think and what they'd do in this situation. and also I'm not only going to revise the weekend before - but the weekend before is an important time. but yes let me know thanks a lot )
It depends how many/which exam you are due to have that Monday. Most schools will let you catch it up on another day if you miss it, but I know some places take mocks a lot more seriously. Obviously if you have family abroad you don't see, and the wedding is for someone you are more close to, it's important to be there. If your school will let you catch up the one or two Monday mocks, I would go. Most schools use mocks for predicted grades, which can be used for some things if something goes very wrong and you cannot sit your real A levels, and they are very good practice. Both of these things still work perfectly well if you take your exams a couple of days later. Good luck!

Hello,

I would always say that mocks are very important and I always treated them as if they were the real thing and that they would be my final grades. This way when we got the feedback back I knew exactly what I needed to do to improve and I would stick to this advice.

However, as you mentioned weddings aren't always that common and so I would probably suggest that you go to the wedding but fit in revision time where you can. If you are concerned about missing a mock exam because of the wedding, it obviously isn't ideal but speak to your school. Ultimately, I went to Buckingham Palace at the start of my A Level exam season literally four days before my first real A Level Psychology exam but everything has worked out!

I hope this answers your question, if you have any further questions please do let me know.
