Depending on the course and depending on the university then yes, it is possible to go to university with a 5 in maths. You posted this in the Cambridge forum - was this intentional? If so, once again depending on the course, a high grade in maths may be more or less relevant (e.g. a 5 in maths to study CS probably won’t suffice, whereas a 5 in maths is unlikely to be a major concern to classics admissions tutors). Your overall GCSE profile for Cambridge will be taken into account and for the more competitive courses, this tends to be a more important distinguishing factor.
