University of Salford, Adult Nursing degree interview questions

Hi all
I am a mature student, and I have my Adult Nursing Degree interview at the University of Salford this week. I was just wondering what questions I will be asked.
I would appreciate any help please. TIA
Chéryl.

Look at the 'skills required' section here- Adult nurse job profile | Prospects.ac.uk -and think about evidence / examples you could use to show you have these qualities. And do some thinking about NHS Values - The NHS values | Health Careers

Hi McGinger
Thank you so much for your reply. I will take a look and make notes. Do you know if we are allowed to take pre-prepared notes into the interview? X

Yes and no about taking notes into a student nurse university interview..... There's nothing stopping you taking notes in but it's going to look very bad if you have to keep looking at what you have written down during your interview plus the thing is you don't know what exactly you'll be asked so making it more difficult for you to write notes.

The best thing to do is try and remember what you might get asked..... some examples are - NMC code of practice, the 6 C's of nursing, NHS core values, reasons why you want to be a adult nurse instead of say a children nurse or midwife, read over your personal statement as you may have to answer something about it 🤔 🤔

Have you been given any information from the university for you to research and study prior to the interview as if so then you need to do this as they will be asking you an that.

Unfortunately hopefully you'll know that nobody can give you exact answers or questions regarding the interview as each person interview is different plus it is also for the fairness of others who'll be doing the interview as well.

Hello,

Congratulations on getting an interview for our Adult Nursing course and best of luck with this.

Unfortunately I would not be able to say what specific questions would be asked and in all honesty this is because I would not know. However what I can offer is some advice.

I would say that the interview stage is our moment to find out about you, I would say to take your time with the answers, use the nervous energy and turn it into excitement and also bring some water with you as taking sips of the water can help you take a second, reflect and answer the questions as they are asked.

If you would like any more, we do have a document of top tips for interviews that you can access here.

Best of luck,
Matt ~ Uni of Salford rep

Details of interview questions can't be shared on the forum as it gives those who follow an unfair advantage.
