procrastinating...

hi angels!

I'm trying to be an academic weapon but honestly? it's not working out for me as much as I hoped. I'm currently in year 10, and I go to a grammar school, so we do every subject as higher tier. I'm for some reason being really burnt out n stuff, like I have so many visions I have in my head as to what I want to accomplish (all secure 9s in GCSEs) but I'm struggling and I don't know why :frown: I have tutors n stuff which does help, but when there are no tutors or homework or no immediate revision, I watch yt videos instead on and on and on, to stop procrastinating - n this problem happens especially in the holidays, and especially when it's the holidays AND my parents are at work. they trust me that I'm working, but when they're not there I work 50/50, and it's not as much of grinding as I hoped. can someone please help me w this problem as in how can I study effectively for my exams especially in these last few days, as I NEED to up my game and stop being so lazy. no matter how many study help yt videos I watch, it just doesn't work.

thank you lovelies !!

Hey, if I’m totally honest in Year 10 I wouldn’t worry - I know you think that you can get ahead but the most effective thing you can do is start slowly making resources - especially flashcards. Hard active recall methods, unless near your Year 10 exams, won’t help you in Year 11 at this stage and it’s better to just focus on easy tasks such as essay plans for English - I would recommend the app Gizmo for flashcards it’s amazing.

thank you!! I do use gizmo for every single subject I do in GCSEs, and everything you can think of e.g. quizlet, corbettmaths, first class maths, save my exams, pmt, sparksnotes, yt videos for English, dr Austin maths, school textbooks, Oxford textbooks, maths genie, cognito, freesciencelessons, mygcsescience, examq, mathsaurus, cgp, cyberphysics and flashcards/ past papers, but the procrastination halts me from doing all of these good revision sources. and I'm a determined y10 to actually achieve well, so unfortunately I can't really think in the mindset of being a bit chill since im in y10
