physics question help please

Hi, please could I have help on the highlighted part of this question? I thought if resistance is increased, more energy will be dissipated so more energy will be taken from the oscillations and the amplitude of oscillations will decrease more (heavier damping)? But the mark scheme says lighter damping?

It seems that you make the same mistake in another thread.

From the question, it seems that the magnitude of induced emf is the same when the resistance increases. So we cannot use power dissipated = I^2 R to determine the power dissipated. Again, ensure that you know why.

This result is valid for this problem.

Use this result, we can deduce that power dissipated is reduced, so it matches MS answer of lighter damping.
