Difference Between Answering 20/30 Mark Questions? (OCR)

I've heard some people say the only difference is the need for scholarship, and I've heard others say the 20 mark should be 500 words and the 30 mark should be 1000 words. Can anyone give advice about this? If you could advise me on how to structure both I'd appreciate that a lot too.

my teachers have advised that for 20 markers that the structure can be a bit more relaxed, so a very brief opening statement, three/four points and a closing statement. no scholars are needed, and you could use the extract given for the 10 mark question.
I approach 30 mark essays as beefier 20 markers, so longer paragraphs/points with a bit more depth to them. use of secondary scholars is obviously very important, and i would definitely make sure to have at least one historical scholarship point, e.g. view of fifth century BC Athenians on Homer's Odyssey.
hope this helps!
