The Student Room Group

Tired rn-

So I'm a year 13 student who have mocks in February. I think my revision is going really well, but I still feel incredibly stressed out about everything, even though I know everything is fine. I dont want to take a 'day off' in revision since I will break the habit I have been keeping up with, and I do have breaks within my day(spent on my phone). Anyone knows how to deal with these feelings? My mum says once A-levels are over I should feel fine, so I'm waiting it out. But the stress is still there. Helppp.

I am also not getting as much steps as I did in year 12, and I'm gaining weight(due to my PCOS). I dont have any 'suicidal idiologies.' its just irrational stress.

Anyone knows how to deal with this stress without taking a day off-

Trying to get some exercise in will help you feel better both physically and psychologically. Doesn't have to be much - even going for a walk or run for 30 minutes a few times a week will help. Might help with the weight gain too, if that's a concern.

It’s completely normal to feel stressed even when everything seems to be going well—it’s your mind responding to the pressure of an important time. To manage this stress without disrupting your revision, try incorporating small changes like taking active breaks instead of solely using your phone, such as stretching or a quick walk to get your steps in. Setting clear time limits for studying can also help you relax once your work is done for the day. Practicing mindfulness or deep breathing for even 5 minutes can significantly ease irrational stress, and writing about or talking through your feelings can help release emotional weight. Remember, this is a temporary phase, and once mocks and A-levels are over, things will ease.
You’re doing great—keep going, and be kind to yourself! ❤️
