Hi! I have an offer from York for the Msci Psychology course. York is good if ur hoping to become a Clinical Psychologist due to the fast track programme they have to get onto the doctorate. That's why I applied for it at least  Can't say much about the other Unis for psych but have a friend doing Dentistry at Liverpool and is really enjoying the "student life" there.

Hi! @waterotter 🙂
Firstly, it's great you're thinking of applying to study psychology at university! I don't do psychology myself, but I have a friend who does and she really enjoys it!
The UEA psychology course is taught by really enthusiastic lecturers and this makes the subject more enjoyable. The course at UEA is accredited by the British Psychological Society, which will be very helpful if you want to pursue a career in psychology after university.

In terms of life at UEA, I personally find it to be the perfect balance between busy but not overwhelming. Norwich is a quiet city compared to most major cities, but it still has independent cafes, shops, etc... Norwich is also a very student friendly city, with many shops having student discounts. As well as this, there are many surrounding sceneries such as beaches, Broads etc.. making for a perfect day out with friends!

As UEA is a campus based university, everything you need is on campus, including a spar, an amazing Sportspark and many different catering outlets.

Have you visited an open day? If not, I'd highly recommend you do as it gives you the chance to talk to current psychology students but also to see the campus!

I hope this helps, if you have any more specific questions about UEA I'm more than happy to help! 🙂

I also applied to Liverpool, York and UEA for psychology. I have already firmed UEA as distance is a major factor for me, and it not being that far felt like a bonus, it also is decently ranked overall and for its course!!

Hiii, I am doing my first year in psych at Liverpool and the uni is perfect. I have absolutely no complaints and I am considering moving to the city when I've graduated as well. Most people seem to be loving it so I really recommend choosing it.

I also live 4 hours away but honestly it doesn't seem that far, the train journey isn't difficult or anything. You should definitely visit if you can!

Hi there,

It sounds like you’ve really thought through your decision, and honestly, UEA is a fantastic choice for psychology. The fact that distance was a key factor for you makes total sense you’ll be able to visit home more easily, which is something that many students don’t think about enough before they choose their university.

In terms of the Psychology department, UEA is BPS-accredited, which is essential if you’re considering a career in psychology, and the course is really well-regarded for its research-led teaching. The School of Psychology at UEA has a strong reputation for areas like cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, and mental health research, and the campus facilities are great, including specialist labs and practical learning spaces.

Good luck with everything I'm sure you’ll really enjoy your time at UEA! 😊
