What subject support is available at De Montfort University
If you are considering studying at De Montfort University, you might want to learn more about the support available throughout your studies, particularly in your academic field or subject area.
Once you have chosen your course, you’ll be part of a specific faculty. Each faculty oversees a range of subjects and offers tailored support. But you might be wondering, what exactly are the faculties?
DMU has four faculties, and these are
Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities (ADH)
Faculty of Business and Law (BAL)
Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS)
Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM)
Each faculty has its own Student Advice Centre (SAC) to help, support and advise students with all learning support enquiries. Services that SACs provide to students include:

Coursework hand-in and collection
•
Supply of forms for change of programme/module changes, change of address etc.
•
Contact details for lecturers
•
Locker rental
•
Information leaflets on all student services and university regulations and procedures
•
General enquiries and signposting to other departments
•
Exam and coursework deferral forms and advice
•
Provision of one-to-one appointments with a member of staff should your problem be of a private or confidential nature
Also, as well as having an award-winning Careers Team, that has been named best in the country each faculty has a specific careers team to help students plan their career path and explore opportunities in Leicester, the UK and across the world. There are many opportunities for students such as:
