University Physics Students - what careers are you looking into

Hi,
I'm a Year 13 student who's applied for Medicine but is wondering whether it is actually the right choice and whether I should follow my other passion that is Physics. The main sticking point for me isn't the degree - I think I'd love it - it's what kind of career options you have in it after.

I know many physics graduates go off to do unrelated jobs but I'd like to have a job in physics - not engineering - if I were to do it. But I've also researched and found that a lot of jobs in academia are very competitive to get and so is funding for research projects. And the majority of the physics related jobs I've seen so far - not that I could find that many - don't have an amazing pay, and although that's not everything, I want to make sure I have a comfortable life for me and my future family.

So basically I'm asking what careers you're looking to do, what they entail, what skills they use and how much you are expecting to be paid so I can figure out whether I want to take the risk. Thanks so much
I know someone did a physics degree and became a (Y12/13) physics teacher(he is my physics teacher)

Its essentially a certainty that you'd earn more doing medicine than if you do physics and actually stay in physics or even engineering. Those who do physics and then go on to earn a lot is almost always because they've gone to non science industry like tech or finance as the skills are pretty well ranged. These fields also just become more and more competitive every year which probably wont be an issue with medicine.
