Ucas application

I’m applying in September and I want to do dental hygiene and therapy but also dentistry. I prefer dental hygiene and therapy but at the same time I want to do dentistry. When I apply, should I have dentistry as my last option?

They are both very competitive courses so your personal statement needs to focus on one course. You won't stand a chance at dentistry with a PS focused on dental hygiene and therapy. Applications for dentistry need to be in by the early application deadline in October. This does not apply to dental hygiene and therapy.

Going from DHT to dentistry is generally not worth it, and is even more competitive than usual as you would then be a graduate. I would say apply to dentistry first, do all your research and make your fifth option DHT. Even if you are rejected, I hope by then you will know which career you want to go into with more certainty even if does take multiple attempts. Good luck
