havent sent off my ucas yet and i have low-ish predicted grades dont know what to do

the course i want to do requires BBC grades and ive been predicted BCC i do have a possibility of getting contextual offers however i have been told to apply for a foundation year to make it more likely for me to get an offer. ive put down on my ucas to apply to KCL, Leeds, Keele, Sheffield and Southampton (which im thinking of changing) . my personal statement is decent i think i just need to know if im likely to get an offer from kings cus their entry requirements are BBB-BBC

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies, I did end up getting my predicted grade changed to BBC and I changed a few of my options to do adult nursing instead which has lower requirements and some good contextual offers as well😊

Hi @diaa_saint ,

Since universities assess applications on an individual basis, some universities may give you an offer even if you don't quite meet their entry requirements. Different universities place different levels of importance on predicted grades.

Based on this, I recommend you to apply for the courses you stated, however possibly put a couple of safety options at a foundation level.

It is also majorly effected by the course itself and how competitive it is.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (Business and Management)

Nursing specifically Children and young peoples

KCL, Leeds, Keele, Sheffield and Southampton

KCL (BBB Contextual) is probably pushing your luck a bit as they will get thousands of applications and don't need to accept 'below grades'.. Southampton and Leeds (BBB) are less competitive but being 2 grades below this is still a risky choice. unless you are certain that you qualify for a lower grade contextual offer.(check carefully). SHU (BBB) will be less competitive but again you need to check the contextual offer criteria for that Uni. Keele (BBC) is *much* more realistic.

You probably have too many high grade choices there. Remember that it really doesnt matter where you train to be a nurse - you get exactly the same qualification, the NHS wont care where you trained and neither will your future patients. Having some more BBC or lower choices would be safer :
Nursing (Child) BSc (Hons) | University of Worcester
Nursing (Child) BSc(Hons) - Brighton
Children and Young People's Nursing Degree | UON
etc
