I am currently living in England but going to Aberystwyth university in September 25. Do i get tuition fees paid for £9250 and a loan/grant of £12150 or one only. Household income is less than £35000. Also, I am a young carer do I get extra financial support and have a diagnosed mental health condition of PTSD so does that also entitle me to extra financial support. Please help clarify what help i am entitled to as its becoming a minefield. TIA

You get your tuition loan, which will be £9535 from September as the cost is going up. Then the maintenance loan you will get depends on your household income, so how much less than 35000? You will only get the max if it’s less than 25000. And the max for that year for studying outside london on a normal course is £10544 as of September. You won’t get extra support from the gov but you may from the uni so you would need to ask them/ check their website. Nope a health condition doesn’t entitle you to extra financial support generally either unless you are getting PIP, but that’s nothing to do with the uni. You could get DSA, but that’s not money that’s academic support and costs associated with learning (you won’t actually get the money).
