Need to drop kilos - 27 year old guy any advise would be appreciated.

Well long story short when I was 19 to 21 I was a massive gym goer...like everyday and had a healthy weight between 75kg to 80kg.

Life got in the way and mental health after graduation first job etc blah blah got fat and started smoking.

managed to quit smoking like 6 months smoke free no more urges. doing walks at least once a day.

Should i just start going to the gym hard again or do i just do walks for a month?

currently like 120 kgs... i just feel lost.

Im just not that guy no more but i really feel if i was to drop my weight like the old days I would be achieving far more than i am right now in all facets of life!

can someone anyone provide me some advice...

First of all, great job on quitting smoking. Losing weight will make you feel even better. Focus on getting lots of steps in and lifting heavy. Watch your diet too, but not too much, just maintain a slight calorie deficit. And more than anything, consistency is key. Easier said than done, but you will see quick results

don’t set high expectations- even if it’s 0.25-0.5kg a week it’s still progress even though it doesn’t look/ feel like it, it will add up.
give your self a balanced diet with meals/snacks you still enjoy so you don’t “binge” after restricting for so long, and finally to learn to enjoy exercising( not sure if you already do) but when you find an exercise that works for you and gives you that “high” keep going.

When it comes to fitness, the most important thing to do is simply to do it, so pick whichever form of exercise or exercising you most enjoy, and go on and do it. Weight loss primarily comes from diet anyway.
