Budgeting at uni

Hey guys,

I’m looking at going to the University of Manchester to study physics. But this question is more about finances. My passion is Everton and live music. Everton tickets cost £38 for young adults. Do you think I could afford to see them play 38 times a year? Or is it simply not feasible?

Thanks
This will depend on how much money you have (from maintenance loan, external support, bursary, job if you’re going to have/need one etc). Also other living costs such as accommodation, travel, food etc. Once roughly you know this, you can do better Maths to see if it’s feasible.

£38*38 is £1444 however.

Home games only would be more possible. Travel to away games needs to be factored in ...
Look at getting a Young Adults season ticket, if they're available. If you can commit to going to most home games, it will work out a lot less than £38 a match.

You're saying 38 games a year, but don't count on going to watch Everton every week. Away games will cost more than £38 a match at certain grounds, but some clubs have priority schemes and being a newbie you may struggle to get a ticket for them until you've built up more attendance. There's always Cup ties to consider, as they don't always attract huge crowds and it's a rule that FA Cup away allocations have to be 15% of capacity, up to 9000.

Who do you want for your next manager?
