I recommend savemyexams (mainly good for sciences) for notes that are condensed but still have enough depth/detail for you to achieve a good understanding. I would write down key points, equations, examples, etc. I personally find that i am more motivated, if my notes look cute/appealing to the eye. Find a method that works for you. However, if you are still struggling to understand, watch videos on youtube on that topic (also write down notes). After this (when you think you have a decent understanding of the topic), go on pmt (free) or https://www.primrosekitten.com/ (paid) and download past paper questions (by topic).

Past paper questions are the best method for revision, as you will be able to learn the markscheme/ recognise patterns (e.g. reoccuring phrases/words, key points) which will guarantee you marks in the real exam. I would try to do at minimum 2 papers on the topic (if there are 2 or more papers), recalling the information you have just learnt - it is okay if you are stuck. Then, self-assess the questions you did in the different colour pen; This is how i would mark a question that i got 0 out of 2 marks in:

English can be very hit or miss. I luckily had a teacher who made lessons interesting and she always made us do essays. In english, you must be able to plan+ structure your essay well, and be able to link the text/themes/points you have explored to the question. Even if the most you did was practice essay planning, in order to get top marks, you must referrence key themes, other moments in a novel/book/play, beliefs/ideology of the time period. For macbeth and frankenstein, i would link them to psychoanalytic theories e.g. Sigmund Freud's theory that our personalities consist of the id, the ego, the superego. Talk about the romantic era, age of enlightenment, Paradise Lost, Nature vs Nuture, for Frankenstein. For macbeth, dicuss how the loss of sanity plays a part in the downfall of both macbeth and lady macbeth, the mother-son dynamic between macbeth and the witches, etc.

For History, time-management is crucial. The structure of your answers depend on how many marks are available in the question and what you are being asked for. PEEL is a good way to structure answers, but if you can, add as much detail as you can (i.e. a date, key event, description of what happened, what you can see in a source, analyse the source, link back to question, etc.)
