How is the online course? Do you get support, resources and references for UCAS? Are the units hard and how are you assessed? I am sorry if these are too many questions. 😭

Hi!
I love that the course is online—it lets me study and submit assignments whenever I have time. For some modules I needed 2-3 days, for other around 7 days to finish. They provide you with materials, but definitely you need ur own research. It is not very difficult and you don't have tests/exams.
Learndirect’s program was recommended by the University of Leicester and is accepted by all the other universities I’ve applied to.
Assignments include writing articles, solving exercises, making posters, and recording presentations. They usually mark submissions within 8 days, or you can pay £25 for next-day feedback.
You can link the course to your UCAS application. I needed references from the course, and they were happy to provide them when I reached out. There are 17 modules total, and you can submit drafts for feedback up to unit 9.
My only hiccup was when I enrolled in August—the course was updating and no materials were available for 5 weeks. I was worried it might be a scam, but it turned out fine!
Hope this helps!

Hi.
How to write a journal article like what is the format? I am currently doing the access course.
This is an example, but there are different types. One was short magazine articles. 4 articles each around 500 words.

You are required to produce a journal article that demonstrates your understanding of professionalism and multidisciplinary teams in healthcare. The journal article must incorporate the following sections.
SECTION 1A discussion of how the roles and responsibilities of the radiographer have changed due to a recent local or national development and the impact of this.
SECTION 2An exploration of the functions of public bodies, agencies and regulators in radiography.
SECTION 3An evaluation how effective the current multidisciplinary team approach is in radiography

3000 words.

Yes, they mark them as a normal course. They check using Turnitin

Hey, apologies for bothering you again. I just had a few more questions about the course and was hoping you could help.

Firstly, do they offer the opportunity to have assignments remarked if they don’t meet the required standard? For example, do they provide feedback and let you improve your grade, or is it just a single submission?

Also, do you think the course would allow time for part-time work, or is it more of a full-time commitment? Are the tutors generally supportive, and do you have access to Zoom calls or similar sessions with them?

Finally, did you encounter any challenges when applying to universities like City University, LSBU, or St George's? Were they accepting of this course for the degree you pursued?

So sorry for asking so many questions about the course, I'm just overthinking and feeling a bit stressed about the idea of taking a gap year.
@Sanjidasanjida @Naixxxxxx @janjantime @Hsadhia I've moved your posts on Access courses to a new thread as it will be helpful for other members to see this discussion.

1.

I think it's a single submission unless you fail. If you fail I believe you can resubmit. But if you get merit instead of distinction you can't resubmit.
They do offer feedbacks after they mark you assignments.

2.

Definitely you can work and study in the same time. Now after you purchase your course you have 24 months to complete it, or you can do in minimum 6 months, this is up to you. I have started it in September and I plan to finish it by end of May. I'm working around 130 hours a months and sometimes I'm doing volunteering, but I still have time because the course is not difficult, there are plenty of materials online that can help you.
The tutors are not too helpful, I'm not sure if they offer zoom calls I only know they communicate through emails, and sometimes the emails are not sending for whatever reason... they usually take 3-5 days to get back to you... But because I need to work and I couldn't go to a college this was the best option for me. Plus it was time sensitive as I just decided on August that I want radiography and I had no background, I did not wanted to wait. I wanted to start University in 2025 so I needed access to HE asap

3.

I only applied to BCU, Coventry and Leicester and I know these all accept this course, you need to email the universities you mentioned and ask them

Hope it help!
Btw if you think of purchasing the course don't buy it directly, chat with a representative or call them because they will offer you a discount.

Hiii, does Learndirect accept Advanced Learner loans ?? and do you know what awarding organisation's/ exam boards they use for this HE Access course Radiography.
Also, how many credits did you have to complete for what specific topics to enable u to get into your chosen unis ??
I am currently looking to start the course soon so I can go uni in 2026 but I have no idea what the best online place to do it. Thankuu

I'm not too sure about the Advanced Learner Loan (as I paid the full course by myself) or the exam board, it's probably best to give them a call, as they might change the board anyway.

Regarding the credits, there were 17 modules in total, but it really depends on your specific requirements. For example, for Coventry I needed 24 credits at Distinction level, along with some credits in both Physics and Biology, but for BCU they requested 30 credits at Distinction lvl so it really depends on Uni.
