It can be difficult to get back into the university mindset after a long holiday break, especially if it's your first year. Therefore, since starting university, I've found it extremely useful to set myself a couple of goals for the upcoming term to help get my mind back on track and focus on what I need to do in the coming months.
As a final year student, I have my dissertation due in a couple of weeks - so one of my major goals is submitting that! I've done most of the prep work and gathered all of the necessary sources, so I just need to start finalising my current draft.
I also have the KSA Fine Art Degree Show at the start of June, which is a public exhibition which showcases select pieces of artwork from all the final year students on my course. Whilst it's a great chance to get pictures and exhibition experience for work post-graduation, it can be a bit nerve-wracking to think about how I'll have to make and install all my pieces within a fairly limited time frame. Right now, I'm trying to put the degree show to the back of my mind to focus on my dissertation - but that can be challenging when you have lots of progress tutorials to discuss your ideas!
On a more personal note, as this is my last year at Kingston, I'd like to follow up on all the things I haven't done before I go back home - restaurants I've bookmarked but haven't gone to, tourist attractions in central London I haven't had the chance to visit yet, etc. I'd also like to take a couple more days trips if I can afford the time: last term, I went to Oxford, but I'd like to visit Reading, Cardiff and Cambridge as well.
What are your goals for the next couple of months?
