about grades and A levels

Im in year 10 right now and this year soon around may im gonna be sitting my mocks!!! but im doing a foundation paper since im in set 2 even tho im trying my best to move up to set 1 which im really stuggling since the top class is full which they are doing a Higher Paper. My teacher every half term gives us a practice foundation paper weather is calculator or non calculator so he can prepare us for the real ones. I dont know by year 11 of im gonna do a higher or foundation depends on my scores and the sets. I wanna be a secondary maths teacher and for that im gonna do a maths A level and a degree in maths as well but lets say Im in year 11 right now and im doing a foundation paper and i get a 4-5 in my Gcse and im planning to go to Longley SIxth Form. Will i be able to do a A level maths since i got 4-5 in my maths GCSE!! ive asked my one of teacher and they said u need atleast a grade 6 but idk. If im doing a foundation paper and get a 4-5 will i be able to do a Maths A level???

The sixth form college you mention above lists their entry requirements for A level Maths on this page. Those requirements are:

"5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English plus at least a grade 6 in Maths".

So you need to find some way to sit the Higher Tier paper. Do you think they'd let you sit the Higher Tier paper even if they can't move you up a set, as Set 1 is full?
My dad did email the brigantia company and they said that theyl send the message to the school but idk if i will be able to since set 1 is full and its really not my fault that the class is full. Some people in set 1 dont deserve to be in set 1. Last Year in year 9 this guy was new and he was in my class. During the test he used his phone and he got the highest and moved up so now hes in set 1 and ive beeen trying since year 8:frown:. So u have to get a grade 6 in order to do a maths A level???

At that particular sixth form, yes. Other sixth forms may have other entry requirements. However, I'd be surprised if there are many which would a accept someone with a grade 5 as GCSE - unless you can somehow convince them that you were incorrectly forced down the Foundation Tier route. Quite how you'd do that isn't clear.

Yes you'll need to sit Higher - some schools require a grade 7!

Which board are you doing? I'll link you to some resources to help

What are you trying to do in the future in Uni? I was in the same position as I was not the brightest at maths so I did BTEC Applied Science. Im now on my first year at Pharmacy. Even though it is a bit harder for me having to learn A level content I still managed to get on.
