international relations uni birmingham vs loughborough vs notts

Hi all, I have recieved offers to study international relations from loughborough, birmingham and notts (politics and ir) and am unsure which would be the best pick.

I have heard lough has a sportier reputation and am not sure if this will be beneficial for my future. It has a lower entry requirement to birmingham and nottingham, yet it has a higher ranking than the two in both subject and school ranking.

I am aware Notts and Birms are russel group unis and am drawn to the two more despite them being ranked lower than lough. I would like to know which university has better employer reputation and which will provide me with more opportunities in finding work after study especially in the field of politics and international relations.

You have until JUNE to make this choice - there are no advantages in making an earlier decision.

You will be invited to Offer holders visit days and these are a great opportunity to have a good look around, find out more detail about the course, ask questions and think about the reality of being at that Uni. In the meantime, look at the choices for optional units for all years of each course - and are there any extras available, like study abroad, work placements etc. And if you are into sport, Loughborough has some of the best Uni facilities in the UK.

Btw, rankings are bunkum - employers ignore them, and they can never tell you if you will enjoy that course or like being that Uni.
