Does anyone use Wattpad anymore?

Does anyone read on Wattpad? I'm not sure I've ever met someone who uses WattPad; it feels like a guilty pleasure that people keep secret... maybe because they are reading unscrupulous things. Or maybe they just thought the Twilight films were acualy good. Anyone still keeping the WattPad flame alive?

Kinda? Like i still have it downloaded and everything and I'm still reading stories if they get updated but I've not really read anything new from after 2022, I also feel like wattpad just isn't as good as it used to be, there are so many ads now and most stories feel repetitive.

Since there are ads I'm assuming you're on Mobile version. How often are stories updated?

Yeah im on mobile, for some reason me and the web version don't mesh. Most of the stories I used to read have either ended by now or just stopped updating but there are a few that update every few months. whats your experience been like?

I only ever read one WattPad author, who has since moved onto other platforms. But I refuse to accept that anywhere is better for WattPad - at least for aspiring writers.

They recently addressed this criticism in an ad.

'Your tastes have changed. So have we.' I don't know if that's them promising that it won't be repetitive anymore? Like a new algorithm?

omg I highly doubt 😭 I feel like a new generation has come to wattpad now and it’s the same stories again (their other videos imply this lol)

Probably; it's not normal for anyone in my social circle to mention WattPad. It's like admitting you like Twilight more than Harry Potter. Massive social taboo.

Same! But I feel like it has never been a social norm, once you mention wattpad in public people automatically think you’re talking about those fanfics, which isn’t completely wrong but it’s a whole stereotype atp

I accidentally went on WattPad once at college... I felt like I had just accessed PH.
