I would say if you're stuck on wanting a degree apprenticeship over uni then just take a gap year, get more work experience and focus on applying to degree apprenticeships. But if you want to apply to a DA now its not too late either, applications are still opening for a lot of places in jan/feb, but i dont think you have time to get work experience first and then apply for a 2025 start.

if you're still unsure about uni and you have an offer from a decent place it's worth doing that and applying to DA's alongside like you said.

Degree apprenticeships are interesting in my opinion. If you always intended on getting immediately stuck in the corporate ladder and don't want any uni debt, then great - a degree apprenticeship is great for you. But bear in mind that traditional degrees at academically intensive universities will always hit different. Different opportunities and stuff available, etc. More freeing and liberal in my opinion and many more opportunities for personal growth.

i mean a lot of apprenticeships close around january to march time so there's a little bit of time to still apply if you can find them but if you're unsure on what you want an apprenticeship in then it might be worth taking a year out to build up your cv and get a better idea. in my opinion if you're not sure what you want to do then is it really worth just starting uni for one year and dropping out bc you won't really get anything out r of it but if you think if you start uni and you might contribute then it could be worth going. i'd say this tho that apprenticeships can be really competitive so having a strong cv gained from a gap year would put you at a great advantage but could be worth applying to some this year to get a feel of the application processes. What sector are you looking into?
