Entry requirement subjects

I want to apply for a course that usually requires a specific A level subject for the top unis, but I didn't take it in A levels. Can I still apply and get accepted?

If you don’t have a required subject then you are likely to be rejected.

Which subject and course is it?

Economics. And the required subject is maths. I am an international student.

But is there a SLIGHT chance that I might get accepted?😅

Then you need to either find universities that don’t require maths (because the course includes maths tuition in first year) or you need to sit maths A level.

If you apply for an economics degree that requires maths without maths A level then you will be rejected.

Where a subject is preferred there is a small chance. Where it is required there is no chance.

Not a hope. Maths is vital for Economics and you will get automatic rejections if its stated as an essential subject. There are courses that only require a high GCSE Maths grade - but you do have to think about why you didnt take A level Maths and are you going to enjoy taking a degree subject that relies so heavily on an understanding of Maths concepts.

Examples of 'GCSE Maths' Econ courses :
Economics BA | Undergraduate study | The University of Sheffield
Economics BA : University of Sussex

Oh okay. Thanks. I have chosen some unis that don't require maths. It's just that there are a couple of unis with a good amount of scholarship (I need the scholarship) that require maths

I get your point. I did have a 9 in IGCSE maths. And now I'm self-studying AS maths just to make my life easier at uni. I'm not bad at maths, it's just not my favourite.
Thanks! I am already applying for Sheffield along with Leeds.
