Unsure of what to do!

I’m at sixth form not enjoying it. I’m 4 months in, studying Maths, French and Spanish. I love spanish but have lost passion for my other subjects due to bad teachers and the subjects themselves. I’m not keen on the idea of uni either so am considering leaving sixth form now and restarting in a college course, new a level options, a T level or an apprenticeship. I don’t know which is the best option for still obtaining a good career in the future and not being perceived as someone who has wasted their potential. What should I do?

if you've lost interest in 2 subjects within just 4 months then I would be wary of starting a T level or apprenticeship that commits you to a single subject 100% for over 2 years.

Thankyou for your reply, I’ve lost interest mostly due to the school I am at, the teaching and lack of friends. I’ve always enjoyed education up until now and have always done well, so now I’m stuck on what to do.

my point is that you could be in the exact same boat taking a T level or apprenticeship.

You're not happy but do you think you can manage to finish the year? Maybe ask your current school if they can enter you for AS exams at the end of this year so you have something to show for the year?
That then gives you more time and more options to figure out your next steps for September

Do you have any work experience? Any work at all that you've enjoyed?

I’m not sure that I could manage the end of the school year as the past 4 months have already taken a toll on my mental health, and it will only get more difficult as the school I am in lacks support.

I’ve been working a part time job (I understand this isnt quite what you mean) where I have a leadership-like role for almost 3 years and really enjoy the prospect of working, this is why I’ve considered an apprenticeship.

That sounds positive about your work

As unhappy as you're feeling it's always better to run TOWARDS something you think you'll love instead of focusing on running AWAY from something that's making you miserable.

Would you school let you drop French and Maths and just sit Spanish AS level in the summer? Then you'd have less time at school but still have a qualification in a subject you do enjoy. Plus could increase your hours in your part time job and also start looking for apprenticeships in the sorts of work you've been enjoying.
