University of Manchester or University of Liverpool?

I’ve applied to study a BA in Philosophy and I’ve gotten offers from both Manchester and Liverpool and I’m unsure which to pick. Manchester’s always been my top choice because I LOVE the city (I go there a lot for concerts) and I really liked the vibes of the University when I visited. BUT I’m not sure if I should pick Liverpool instead because of the better accommodations and because I liked the campus when I visited. Manchester’s my fav city but Liverpool’s close enough to it.

Manchester gave me an offer of ABB whereas Liverpool gave me an offer of AAB (both are realistic because I’m predicted A’s and A*’s). Liverpool’s more selective, so does that make it better? Manchester is ranked better for Philosophy though, so do the entry requirements and acceptance rates make a difference?

Which do I pick?

You have until JUNE to make this decision.

Time to go to any Offer Holder visit days, look around, find out more about each course, ask questions and think carefully about where you will feel happiest.

Look carefully at the individual unit choices available in all 3 years of each course - and think about what you would actually choose if you went there. If you can't find this info easily on the Uni website just email the Uni and ask for this info. Are there any 'extras' on offer like Study Abroad or work placements - these add heaps to your graduate CV.

Liverpool is definitely not more selective, they probably just wanted to look like they are so that you're more likely to pick them because they know you're due to get high grades. They'll no doubt be asking for just BBB or even BBC from another applicant. Manchester is definitely better, for this subject and as a university in general.
