AI is just a tool, its going to be part of the landscape of work and education from now on
If you use it to write an assignment then why bother paying for an education? But in all my years as an academic I have seen plenty of assignments that were obviously purchased and not written by students, thing is the university rarely wanted to confront that issue
I am a professional researcher in a research company - we use AI all the time for stuff like thematic analysis, its great. Not that we ever use the AI outputs directly, but it can be super useful to suggest some starting themes for 1000+ user quotes. AI is good at patterns, humans are good at confirmation bias
