UCAS

I chose my firm and insurance uni a couple of days ago but I am having second thoughts, am I still able to swap or change them? I heard it is possible within a certain time period but I wasn't sure if this is true.

Yes, you can change your mind (as to which of your offers should be your firm and which should be your insurance) within 14 days. You can actually change you mind after then too, but it's more complex, and the universities involved need to agree to the change.

See the "Changed your mind?" section of this UCAS page for confirmation. (In summary: call UCAS.)

THIS folks, is why you don't make F & I choices this early.
There is nothing to be gained. no advantages.
So however tempting, don't make these choices before Easter!

Have you visited them both?

Lincoln isn't particularly selective so don't feel pressured by the 14 days to switch - Lincoln are almost certainly going to be happy to agree to a switch up until mid July so if you have applicant/offer holder visit days coming up in the next few months it might be better to just sit with your choices as they stand and then see how you feel in April/May when you've had time to visit and find out more.

Hi there,

Yes, it’s definitely possible to change your firm and insurance choices within a certain time period and if you’re thinking about UEA, that’s an exciting move!

According to UCAS, if you’ve recently made your choices, you have 14 days from the date you chose your firm and insurance to request a swap. You’ll need to contact UCAS directly and explain which universities you want to change. It’s a straightforward process as long as you’re within that time frame, so I’d recommend acting quickly.

UEA is a fantastic option, especially if you’re still unsure about your final choices. The campus is beautiful, with a really supportive community, and students here are known for saying how welcome and comfortable they feel. It’s a place that strikes a great balance between academic challenge and a friendly atmosphere.

The student life in Norwich is another huge plus affordable, vibrant, and full of things to do, but not overwhelming like larger cities. If you’re considering UEA, you’ll find it a great place to settle in and focus on your studies.

If you’re really leaning towards UEA and want to explore this option further, it’s worth contacting UEA’s admissions team to see if they can advise on your specific course availability. They’re really helpful and approachable, and I’m sure they’d be happy to guide you through the process.

It’s great that you’re thinking carefully about your choices. If UEA feels like the right fit for you, definitely go for it you’ve still got time to make the change.

Good luck with everything,
Daniel

thank you! the only downside of UEA is the accommodation as I'm not sure my maintenance loan will be able to cover it.

I should also say distance is a key factors, as I don't want to be too far from my family, otherwise I would have chosen Liverpool but the distance scares me

is anyone planning on going to uni of Liverpool, Nottingham, UEA or Lincoln in September? I've received all offers for Psychology but I'm deciding on where to firm and insure. I really like Liverpool but it's about 4hrs away
Have you visited them all?

4 hours isn’t too much - it’s day-trip distance.

Hello @charlietvdddd,

Congratulations on all your offers, it’s wonderful to hear you can considering studying at UEA!

Have you been able to visit our campus yet? We have a mini open day on the 18th January which you could book here.
We also have applicant days, where you can speak to your teachers and find a bit more about your course. Check it out here.

I would also suggest speaking to one of our current psychology students, visit Unibuddy at https://www.uea.ac.uk/ask-us. Our undergraduate accommodations are also all En-suites, have a quick look. As you mentioned your maintenance loan, I would recommend having a chat with our admissions team - [email protected] or our finance team [email protected]

We have a lovely campus, with lots of open spaces and lots of of opportunities on offer. From sports to societies there is something for everyone. Our city centre is also full of lots of wonderful shops and restaurants, with plenty of places to explore!

I wish you the very best, any questions do feel free to ask 😊
