From my discussions with people, tomboys are thought of as either wannabe transvestites, dykes, modern women ... and everything in between. Just wondering what you think of tomboys as a label - is it fair? normal/weird, un/attractive? Is the term out of date?

I don't really make anything of it. I could be seen as a tom boy...I like Rugby, F1, cricket, football (a little bit). Never had dolls, grew up with trains and climbing trees etc.
I wear mens clothes as well if I like it.
Haven't really been called a tomboy very much really, not recently.

I don't actually know what it means, or how to class someone as a tomboy.
It's about as fair as any other label...they use a couple characteristics of a personality and label a group of people together that share the interests.

Tomboys are alright when you're growing up and want people to play football with and get covered in mud. Now I just like girls as girls- they're cool that way.
