personal statement length

Is it bad that my personal statement is 3700 characters not 4000 because I don't really have anything more to add I think it's good but I don't want it to look worse just because its shorter. Opinions?
As someone that reads PS's for a living I would much rather you didn't waffle to pad it out. Your PS will be easier to read and pick out highlights. Congrats.

I'd say that's good because it means you are less likely to have problems with the line number limit. I had my personal statement under 4000 characters but then had problems putting it into UCAS because it is counted differently sometimes and the line number limit

Hi @fjkdfhdjsn,

Having a personal statement that's slightly under the 4,000-character limit isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all. Admissions value quality over quantity, so if your statement is clear, well-structured, and effectively communicates your skills, experiences, and passion for the subject, it's a lot better than waffling just to meet the criteria.

Just make sure you've covered areas like: why you're interested in the course, relevant academic achievements and skills, work experience or extracurricular activities that relate to the course and your future aspirations and how this course fits in. If you’re happy with the content, use could perhaps use the extra space to refine your phrasing or make sentences more compelling. Just make sure it still reflects and sounds like you

Hope this helps,
Danish
