Not sure about the first and last ones. MA (Oxon) means you did an undergraduate BA degree at University of Oxford which has been converted into an MA (Oxon) degree upon payment of a small fee, some paperwork (and a graduation ceremony if you want one) without having to do another degree. Oxford BA students are eligible to do this 21 terms after they started their BA degree

MSt is an actual/proper Masters degree from Unviersity of Oxford

STB means Bachelor of Sacred Theology, a degree conferred by the Papacy.

BL is used by members of the Bar of Ireland to signify Barrister at Law. BL is not used by members of the English Bar. Barrister at Law is an obsolete usage in the UK but is still used in Ireland and some Commonwealth jurisdictions.

I add that an Oxford MA is a rank (degree) within the university. It is a survivor from the medieval system under which a student would progress from Scholar to Bachelor to Master to Doctor.

In the UK, it is generally considered a bit cheesy to list all of your post-nominals in a non-academic context.

Fantastic! Thank you kindly for all your responses! I know somebody with all those degrees, but I felt a bit uncomfortable, maybe even stupid asking what they mean, much appreciated all your help.
