Does A-level English get more enjoyable?

I've just started my a-levels (year 12) and I've got my english mock literally tomorrow and I'm just really not finding the subject as interesting as I did at GCSE.
The texts I study are Otehllo, Death of a Salesman, Keats poetry, then in year 13 we're going to start with The Handmaid's tale, Harvest, and William Blake
One of the texts I did at GCSE was Lord of the Flies and I LOVED it, but A-level, even though I love the texts, just isn't quite hitting the same. Is there anyone in year 13/above who felt the same? Does it get more fun as you begin to know your texts in more and more depth?

Hi! Coming from a yr13 student whose favourite subject is English literature, I’m a bit biased  but I would say that this is probably because of your teacher, since you said you love the texts but aren’t finding it as interesting. I think def stick with it and hopefully next year your next texts will be more interesting for you! Plus yr13 absolutely FLIES by so it’s not like you have to spend that long on the subject before a levels are over.
I think the biggest thing is that my teacher gave us loads of extra reading which was annoyingly extra work, but it ended up making the texts we’re studying way more interesting. I think the more you study the texts in depth, the more you can get out of them even if you don’t love them that much, because everything starts to feel intricately put together and really open up for you
good luck with your mock!
