UAL fashion styling and production portfolio
has anyone else applied for fashion styling and production at ual? and how long do they take to check portfolios? i submitted my portfolio on the17th of december and i’m just waiting for a response. obviously i know there was christmas/new years break but the silence is killing me.

nope, haven’t heard anything yet. lmk if you do! i know ual is like notoriously known for being slow with applications but it’s so frustrating because i’ve already heard back from all my other choices.
I will for sure! Yeah, I guess your kinda know what you are getting yourself for when applying to UAL! I have a friend who got an offer for LCF knit on Friday without an interview tho I haven't seen or read of anyone who have applied to styling hearing back yet! What other courses did you apply to?

omg congrats to your friend!! i wonder if we’ll have interviews?? i’ve had interviews for my other choices but ual seem a bit inconsistent with them. i’ve also applied for fashion image making & styling at salford, fashion image & styling at uca, fashion styling & art direction at falmouth, and fashion styling & creative direction at solent southampton. what about you?? is ual your first choice?

Yeah, I'm really pleased for her! I'm not sure about an interview, I know she got an offer based on her portfolio with no interview. Ahh, you seem to have a real interest in fashion styling which is very cool! I actually applied to Salford too for fashion image making and styling, crazy! My other choices are Fashion Journalism at UAL CSM, fashion design at Salford and a degree at home! I'm not quite sure what my first choice would be atm tbh

I'd definitely recommend coming along to an offer holder day to check out the courses we have if you do receive an offer from us (or any of the universities you've applied for - we should all do something similar), you might see each other there!

omg your friend’s portfolio must be amazing!! love that for her. also my friend applied for fashion buying and merchandising at ual lcf and she got an offer the day after she applied. + without an interview or portfolio so lcf must be taking their time to look through our portfolios… and omg what are the chances we applied for the same course at salford too LOL?? fashion journalism sounds so cool!! are u leaning more towards fashion styling or journalism? and honestly same, i have no idea which unis im going to pick as my firm and backup 🙃🙃
She’s really talented! She has like her own crochet business which is really cool! Yeah, the wait is agonising lol. I KNOW right?! The styling course at Salford seems great! I’m honestly not sure what I’m learning more towards tbh. I like the idea of studying fashion journalism as I feel it would provide me with a good foundation to move into styling if I wanted to however, I feel there would be benefits also to studying a styling specific course. AH, DECISIONS!! Do you have IG? It would be cool to keep in touch regardless of our choices

I am a course rep from UAL and I currently study fashion journalism and content creation at London College of Fashion. It's great that you have applied to study fashion journalism at UAL, although there are some slight differences with the courses at LCF and CSM, I am sure you will enjoy it.
Each course takes different amount of time in getting back to students, but it is still a little early so don't worry too much about not hearing anything. Just make sure to keep an eye on your inbox in the meantime. I wish you the best with your application.
